You either read books or learned by experience that one set of principles work for people who have different circumstances and needs.
Those liberal schools taught your ancestors how to think critically and decide for themselves whether something was good for them without requiring them to listen to someone else’s opinion about it. They also taught them that it is their right to choose whether or not they follow those principles.
